I’m Liz Guthrie, from San Jose Wedding Consultants. Weddings can be expensive, and not everyone can afford the lavish type of wedding that only the finest vendors in the industry can produce. It is my hope that whoever wins this contest is truly in love with LOVE, and that we provide them with an amazingly romantic day they’ll cherish for the rest of their lives.
Here’s my own Love Story for you, which details some of my personal favorite places in San Francisco.
I Left My Heart in San Francisco
San Francisco holds a special place in my heart, as it is where I met my husband and fell madly in love with him ten years ago.
He was the singer of a band called The Inciters that used to play at several spots around the city regularly, and we were set up by another member of the band, who must have known what she was doing. Our first meeting was at the quirky and romantic Cafe Du Nord, a charming and cozy bar located in the Castro, where his band played every Thursday.

We decided to have our first date two days later, with a picnic and bottle of wine at the Palace of Fine Arts . This is a beautiful setting with a lake and swans, and it’s the perfect spot for falling in love! Built for an expostion in 1915, The Palace of Fine Arts is a gorgeous building with wonderful architecture. That first date lasted all day and almost all night, and we’ve been together ever since.
Our next date was just as wonderful as the first: and it is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco! They don’t have a webiste- but you can see from reviews, that it is a much-loved establishment. Khan Toke Restuarant Reviews.
This is an awesome Thai restaurant where diners sit on the floor, surrounded by lovely authentic Thai decor and the amazingly satisfying smell of exotic foods. Just the mere fact that ours knees were brushing up against one anothers, was pure excitement and quite romantic, especially when you’ve only just met! It’s a great place to re-kindle the old flame, too!

We spent the first few weeks of our relationship falling madly in love, while soaking in the romance that only San Francisco can offer. Our wedding was just as amazing as our courtship. Wanting to share the beauty of San Francisco with out of town family and friends, we decided to get married on a boat during sunset, while cruising the San Francisco Bay. It was perfect in every way, beginning our lives together surrounded by the most romantic city in America.
