With around 45 wedding and hospitality professionals comprising The DREAM TEAM, we are each individual people. Every one of us will be reading through these amazing Love Stories over the next 2 weeks or so. As we read about our contestants, we hope to find those couples who stand out in our minds as exceptional people.
Each one of us may have different opinions regarding who should make it to the Top Five. So, on December 10th, the DREAM TEAM we will be getting together in a Top Secret location… to VOTE. The couples with the most votes from the Dream Team will make it on to the next round! (That’s when the PUBLIC decides the 1 winning couple!)
For myself (Liz from San Jose Wedding Consultants), I have a soft spot for couples facing illness or those who have overcome great obstacles in their lives. It will be so hard to find only FIVE couples that exemplify the hard working, selfless couples I admire. We had sooooo many that fit this description!!!
Regardless, it’s not up to me to make this decision alone. All of the sponsors will have the opportunity to read your Love Stories, and decide on their own which couples they see as a Top five contender.
We can’t wait to share our excitement as we go through this process.
Join us here- where you’ll get all the juicy scoop about what’s going on behind the scenes of the San Francisco Dream Wedding Giveaway!
Good Luck to ALL who entered!

I just got the e-mail and wanted to tell you a little about me and my fiance. We met back in high school…but, he was popular and me…not so much! I was more of the “big girl” back in high school…in fact, I was the big girl until I got sick in July of 2007. In July of 2007 after being told I had metasticized cancer, I was devistated. However, it turned out after my surgery at Sloan in NYC, I didnt’ have cancer at all…I went to hundreds of doctors and I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Many people don’t know too much about Lyme Disease, but it can totally destroy ones nerves, brain and every organ of the body. I began my antibiotic treatments…which then turned into over 2 years of very expensive IV antibiotics, spinal taps, crazy brain scans, the ultimate loss of my gall bladder and the temporary loss of my use of the English language. I was one of the few who had neurologic Lyme. My family and friends were great! Unfortunately, the cost of all of my healthcare (which, btw, I have insurance) was over $450,000!!! (of which my insurance reimbursed me and my family less than 30%). Needless to say, my parents had to sell their 4 br, 3 bath home in NJ and now live in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. You can imagine how I SO want to give back to them. I can’t believe the sacrifices they’ve made for me. They both have MBA’s from the University of Chicago and have both worked so hard all of their lives…my father is in his mid-seventies and is at Sloan today to discuss what they are going to do about a mass on his kidney. I’m trying not to freak out. I’ve known my fiance and I will be paying for our wedding and frankly, he’s almost convinced me the best bet is to go to town hall and just get married there. He said to me, “Hon, I’m not trying to rain on your parade…but, I need you to know, I don’t need some giant, expensive wedding to remind me of the day I married the woman I love!” How adorable and sweet is he??
In any event, going back to how Greg and I got together…we had started hanging out through a mutual friend. We both had significant others and neither of us were interested in eachother. He was always so sweet and thoughtful and would visit me during my IV treatments at my parent’s old house. My nurse who hooked up my PIC line to the medicine always told me that I would end up with Greg - which reminds me, I have to call my nurse, he will be SO HAPPY!
We both broke up with our significant others and we would just spend time talking…about anything and everything. Finally, one day, he kissed me. I felt my world spin! We tried to not let it change our friendship, but it ultimately did. And now, here we are, a little over a year and a half later and we are engaged. I’ve told him we will get married in December of 2011 because I know it will take that long to save money for a wedding…nevermind, we don’t even live together yet, because we can’t afford it. I am working two jobs and he works one and is trying to find a second job, as well. I am sure everyone who has entered into this contest is more than deserving of the big bash and I truly hope whoever wins has a day they never forget! Good luck and Congratulations to everyone!!!

I’m sure it will be hard for all of you, but I could make it easy for you if you just choose Mike and I. Hee-he!

Please have us in your mind when make it a decision. We hope to win the 2010 San Francisco Dream Wedding Giveaway because we are hard working people than can’t afford it any other way but we always talked about how much we will like to have our family and friends share our joy. When we met, I was a single mother, and I was not thinking on a new realtionship mainly because of my son. I was afraid to have a relationship since I didn’t want to chose anyone that will not love my son as his own. Until I met him. He show me that I should believe in love and more important he became like a father to my son. That is how he won my heart, (and my son’s heart too!). We got married in civil court and then we had our second son “Julian”. We wanted to get together but we knew we couldn’t afford our dream wedding. I am still trying to save to do that so we can invite our family and friends to cheer with us but the way things are going it will never happen, and if it does it might be when is our 50th anniversary :). We just can’t afford it right now since our children is our priority. That is why, I think we hope to win the 2010 San Francisco Dream Wedding and if we do, you will find that you chose correctly. We are fun, and energeric and we are ready to have a blast in the wedding you will prepare for us if we are selected.
Best of luck to everyone.

I have seen my fiance on this website, constantly checking for updates, reading the other love stories and checking comments that family and friends have left. She is extremely anxious, like im sure all the other brides to be are, and is dying to win. I had prayed relentlessly for this. I would love to see her happy as ever. Despite of that, I am wishing he best for everyone. Im sure it will be a dream come true for all. Good luck everyone.
